This will be used as my “author photo.”
The ears and the nature of taking phone photos in a Party City complement my sillie-n-funnie side while the expression I am wearing, particularly the slight up-curve of my left eyebrow, wincing left eye, and embarrassed nasal-labial fold region, underscore my self-awareness—after all, I am the one taking this picture, putting myself in this situation, putting myself a little on edge considering the possibility that another Party City patron could wander down this aisle and catch me taking my own picture with my phone while wearing mock-Playboy bunny ears.
Hopefully this photo will not be misread as “Author Has Furry Tendencies” or “Author Pays Big Bucks To Have A Seamstress Construct Anthropomorphic Sexie Bunnie Suits So Author Can Act Out The Magnetic Fields’ ‘Let’s Pretend We’re Bunny Rabbits’ With Furry Lovers In The Storage Rooms Of Convention Centers.”
I wonder how many non-indie/alt-lit authors use phone pictures as their author photos.
Also, “Feather Wings” in whimsical fancy font.
Also, “Ear Clips.”
Also, boyshorts. Butt.
Also, this coat makes me feel like I should be an extra in Hannah and Her Sisters.
